Frequently Asked Questions

How do we get to Santara Villas in Bali?

Bali is accessed via Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), with direct international flights from Australia, Asia, Europe and beyond. Our team will be delighted to assist with private airport transfers, ensuring a seamless and comfortable arrival at Santara Villas. The Transfer service is paid service.

Do we need a visa to visit Bali?

Most international travellers, including guests from Australia, Europe, the UK, North America, and many Asian countries, are eligible for a Visa on Arrival (VOA).

  • Fee: IDR 500,000 (approx. USD 35)

  • Valid for: 30 days, extendable once

Visa requirements and Fees may change, so we recommend checking the official Indonesian eVisa website prior to travel.

Do we need travel insurance?

Yes, we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance for all guests. This is particularly important if you plan to ride scooters or participate in water activities such as surfing or snorkelling.

What is the best way to get around Bali?

For comfort and ease—especially for families—we recommend private drivers or trusted taxi services. Ride-hailing apps are also available in most areas. Should you wish, our concierge team can arrange transport tailored to your itinerary.

What is the weather like in Bali?

Bali enjoys a tropical climate year-round:

  • Dry Season (April – October): Warm days, low humidity, ideal for outdoor activities

  • Wet Season (November – March): Occasional tropical showers, typically short and refreshing

Average temperatures range between 28–30°C, making Bali a wonderful destination at any time of year.

What payment methods are accepted in Bali?

Most restaurants, shops, and shopping in tourist areas accept Visa and Mastercard. We recommend carrying some Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) for local markets and small purchases. ATMs are conveniently located throughout Bali.

Where Can we exchange the money?

We would recommend avoiding exchanging money at the airport as exchange rates are not favourable. There are plenty of places to exchange currency in Kuta, Seminyak and Canggu. BMC money changer is one that we recommend as it is commission free. There are plenty of BMC exchange stores around Bali.

Is Santara Villas suitable for families?

Absolutely. Santara Villas is designed with families in mind, offering spacious living areas, private pools and family-focused activities upon request.

What is included in the price of my rental? Do I have to pay more hidden fees or taxes?

We always display prices inclusive of all the fees we should legally include. Unlike other booking platforms, there is no additional cleaning fee.

Who will be there at the time of check-in?

Generally, the villa manager will be present upon your arrival, perhaps alongside a friendly and welcoming housekeeping staff to show you around the property.

What if I want to arrange activities during my stay? What do you recommend I do?

This is where we shine! You can find inspiration for your island travels on our website. On top of that, we have our Concierge Team and Destination Experts who are also happy to advise and provide you with some insider tips. Some of our most popular concierge requests include airport transfers, birthday decorations, and private chefs.

Do we need vaccination before coming to Bali?

Bali is quite a safe place compared to other tropical destinations. Having said that, we still recommend a tetanus boost, hepatitis A (2-3 jabs, starting 6 weeks before your trip) and typhoid (oral vaccination, 3 weeks before). Though Bali and Nusa Lembongan are classified as malaria-free, if you want to be on the safe side, a malaria prophylaxis and rabies vaccination is recommended. Act wisely to keep risk to the minimum by bringing repellents and protective clothing with you.
